andante is a mobile sleep-aid music application developed as an adaptive listening environment, aiming to help users sleep and meditate. derived from prototypes built in max/msp and supercollider and later expanded into a full ios application using c++ and juce, the project integrates original composition, system design, and audio production into a single musical framework.
gong composed, recorded, and produced all of the music, creating over forty original pieces designed for slow temporal development and immersive long-form listening.
the app is getting ready for the first public release and continues to be actively developed and refined. a dynamic sleep-monitoring system using motion data allows playback conditions to evolve over time, treating musical structure, system behavior, and listener experience as a unified compositional field.
