Pluto is an ambient composition conceived as a gradual departure from the Earth and a return to a wider cosmic space. Built around slow formal shifts and evolving spectral treatments, the piece unfolds through a series of sections shaped by filtering processes and subtle transformations, allowing the music to progressively dissolve, recede, and reconfigure over time. Rather than presenting a fixed narrative, the work is structured as a perceptual journey, using sonic change itself as compositional material. This composition is both a musical exploration and a personal tribute to Ryuichi Sakamoto. Drawing inspiration from his experimental and ambient works, Gong approaches Pluto as a reflection on distance, disappearance, and resonance, reinterpreting these ideas through his own compositional language. The accompanying audiovisual work was generated using AI-based tools driven by the music itself, extending the piece into a visual environment shaped directly by sound.
